Beyond the slopes: Gudauri in summer

When the snow recedes, Gudauri does not empty — it changes. The pistes soften into meadow, and the air fills with paragliders riding the afternoon thermals.

Drive a little further and the Truso Valley opens up: mineral springs, ruined towers, and a river the colour of glacier melt. It is one of the most quietly spectacular corners of the Caucasus.
