First tracks: a winter morning in New Gudauri

There is a particular stillness to Gudauri before the lifts open. The light comes in low and gold across the bowls, and for a few minutes the whole resort feels like it belongs to you.

From the Altimera residences it is a short walk to the gondola. Catch the first cabin and you will have the upper slopes almost to yourself, the grooming still crisp underfoot.

Later, when the mountain wakes up, retreat to the residence for a slow lunch and a warm floor. That rhythm — early effort, easy afternoon — is the heart of a good ski week.
